High School Students:
If you were absent on Friday, and/or forgot something here at school that you will need for class, please contact the school and we will be available until 4:00 pm today for you to get what you are needing for class. Online remote learning will begin tomorrow.
Just a friendly reminder that remote learning will begin on Tuesday, September 29th. This will be in the same format as we did last Tuesday, with all 7-12 students logging on face to face with their core classes (English, Math, Science, and History) at their normal school times, and K-6 logging on for their designated time periods. This will continue through Friday, October 9th. We hope to see everyone back in school on Monday, October 12th.
FPS Classes Going Remote -
Franklin Public Schools is reporting that several staff members have tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 in the school district. Superintendent Dr. Candace Conradt stated that through collaborative efforts and discussion with Two Rivers Public Health Department, the decision has been made to transition to remote learning beginning Tuesday, September 30, through Friday, October 9. The first day back in session will be Monday, October 12. Monday, September 29, students will not attend classes in the building to allow for cleaning and for teachers to prepare for remote learning.
While Dr. Conradt knows this is not necessarily an ideal learning environment for the students, the health and safety of all students in the district is also important. It was a difficult decision, but the health of the students takes priority.
Students will follow the same remote learning schedule as the September 22nd virtual schedule we followed. All practices and activities including Parent/Teacher Conferences are cancelled.
A mandatory mask policy was put into place in the schools today, and will continue until further notice. Masks will be required while on school property, and may be removed only during meal time.
Anyone who has additional questions can reach Dr. Conradt at the Franklin schools at 308-425-6283 Ext. 30
